Knight worked with the Illinois Department of Transportation with Phase III engineering services for intersection improvements at IL-19 (Irving Park Road) at York Road. As one of the busiest intersections in Illinois, complex and integrated construction sequencing was required to maximize traffic flow through the intersection during construction.
Knight provided Phase II and III engineering services for the removal and replacement of two structures carrying Ring Road over the West Lagoon in Washington Park including design of three accelerated construction bridges, reconstruction of the lagoon’s dam and transforming Ring Road into a multipurpose path for the community to enjoy.
Knight provided award-winning engineering services for the improvement of I-55 at U.S. Route 6 Diamond Interchange.
Knight coordinated services of more than 145 projects for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s (WisDOT) Northwest Region Local Program. Knight’s tasks included scoping projects, reviewing design consultant selection processes, contract negotiations, real estate acquisition reviews, and final plan, specification, and estimate reviews.
Knight collaborated with the AIG Corporation and the Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation to engineer and design the 1.5 acre Illinois State Police Memorial Park to honor more than 70 ISP Officers who have given their lives to protect the citizens of Illinois.
Knight provided professional architectural and engineering services to the Springfield Airport Authority (SAA) for roadway and building maintenance improvements at the Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport, delivering cost effective infrastructure improvements to help keep the airport in top shape.
