Knight collaborated with the Illinois State Police Heritage Foundation to design the 1.5 acre Illinois State Police Memorial Park to honor more than 70 ISP Officers who have given their lives to protect the citizens of Illinois.
Knight designed and developed the park site with paths, reflecting areas, Memorial Wall, Path of Service monument, sculptures, landscaping and a water feature. Each element of the park symbolizes and reinforces the ISP motto of Integrity, Service and Pride.
The vision for the project was for a visitor to experience a sense of the instilled pride of those who serve for the ISP and honor fallen comrades and their families. Since 2007, Knight has worked pro bono in multiple areas, integrating ISP’s three main values of integrity, service, and pride into all aspects, especially with the “path of service” and the granite memorial of names.

HONORING THE FALLEN
Knight staff worked closely with the Illinois State Police, families of the fallen and the sculptor commissioned to create the statues throughout the memorial park. The goal of the project was to focus on capturing the life of service of every Trooper and honoring the ultimate sacrifice made by the Troopers memorialized at the park. Above all, Knight is proud to have played a part in creating this park that remembers and honors the fallen.
