Knight coordinated services of more than 145 projects for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation’s (WisDOT) Northwest Region Local Program. Knight’s tasks included scoping projects, reviewing design consultant selection processes, contract negotiations, environmental document and design study report review, real estate acquisition reviews, preliminary, real estate acquisition reviews, and final plan, specification, and estimate reviews.
Knight acted as the main point of contact between project local agencies, design consultants and WisDOT. In addition to design oversight responsibilities, Knight worked to program and schedule projects to fit into the WisDOT’s Letting Schedule, training local agencies and consultants, representing WisDOT on various Statewide Engineering committees.
Knight provided services on a wide variety of project types that included structure, roadway and non-traditional projects. Structure projects included bridge rehabilitation and replacement. Roadway included rural and urban roadway improvement projects; include resurfacing, pavement replacement, reconditioning and reconstruction.

DEVELOPING SMART TOOLS
Knight’s innovation for the WisDOT local program was recognized by the County Commissioners. Knight developed a wide range of management tools that increased performance – up to a 40% lower hours per project and administrative costs. Upon closing the project, the WisDOT gave an overwhelmingly amount of feedback for “Exceeding Expectations” for knowledge of the Local Program Process and our Client Service.
